Gabriel Kayiira Matwale Dip, BSc, MSc, MPH
Gabriel is a biologist for more than 30 years. He was the Manager of the elimination of Lymphatic Filariasis and Podoconiosis Program based at Ministry of Health, Uganda. He coordinated and participated in activities geared at eliminating the two diseases as a public health concern. With over 15 years of experience in managing resource-constrained operations, he has demonstrated skills in strategic planning for a result-driven national program. Interruption of Lymphatic filariasis transmission has been attained in all 70 endemic implementation units (districts). Scaling up coverage for morbidity management for elephantiasis and hydrocele surgery is ongoing. Gabriel is a firm believer that the elimination of lymphatic filariasis and management of Podoconiosis transmission are possible in our lifetime.
