Moses N Katabarwa BSc, MPH, MA, PhD

 

Katabarwa provided scientific support to river blindness, lymphatic filariasis, and schistosomiasis programs in Cameroon, Ethiopia, Mozambique, Nigeria, and Tanzania. He was a guest researcher at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (2003 to 2010) and an Adjunct Professor at Rollins School of Public Health of Emory University (2006 to about 2020). He served on the Technical Consultative Committee of the WHO’s African Program for Onchocerciasis Control program, the WHO Subcommittee on the Malaria Cross-Border Transmission, and the Uganda Onchocerciasis Expert Elimination Committee. He advised on community-directed treatment with ivermectin for onchocerciasis elimination in several African countries and the Americas and published widely in peer-reviewed Journals on NTDs elimination. Emory University awarded him with The Sheth Distinguished International Alumni Award.
