Ambrose was the Principal Medical Entomologist with the Ministry of Health, Uganda where he focused on malaria, Human African Trypanosomiasis, Onchocercaisis, lymphatic filariasis, schistosomiasis, and trachoma. He pioneered research on LF and Onchocerciasis and was instrumental in setting up integrated national Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs) elimination programs for Onchocerciasis, Lymphatic Filariasis, Schistosomiasis, and Malaria. After, he headed the NTDs under RTI International, funded by USAID, as the Country Program Manager for 10 years, and then after as the Chief Technical Advisor to RTI Programs. Currently, he is the chairman of Nyange CHRD Board of Directors. Ambrose has published in peer-reviewed publications on NTDs. He is a member of the Uganda Onchocerciasis Elimination Committee and the Entomological Association of Uganda.
